Fairhope, Ala.- You can help a homeless pet find love during the PetSmart Charities Second Chance for Love National Adoption Weekend this Sept. 11-12. Hill’s Science Diet Brand and PetSmart are the proud sponsors of this adoption event, which will be held in all 1,149 PetSmart stores in the United States and Canada.

BI-LO collecting food for pets

BI-LO in Thomson has joined its company's other stores to help local pet owners feed their pets. The PAWS Premium promotion began Sept. 1 and runs through Sept. 28 with a goal of collecting 60 tons of pet food. The pet food will be donated to local food banks.

Rescues and Runways to benefit animal shelter

The North Platte Telegraph In the first year of Rescues and Runways, a program launched by national retailer Maurices to benefit local animal shelters where stores exist, the unique pairing of fashion and shelter animals brought in 67,000 pounds of pet product and an additional $125,000 for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) nationwide.
